The Inuit Circumpolar Council Chair’s Office is hiring an Executive Director. As Executive Director, you will be the ICC’s Chair’s closest employee, and will be responsible for serving the ICC’s Executive Council and Chair. You will also be given administrative responsibility for the management of ICC’s office in Nuuk, with 3-4 employees reporting to you.
In the period 2022 to 2026, ICC Greenland has the International Chairship of the ICC.
The Inuit Circumpolar Council is an international Indigenous Peoples’ Organization that represents Inuit across the Arctic. As Executive Director, you are part of ICC’s international team, which has offices in Nuuk, Ottawa (Canada), Anadyr (Chukotka) and Anchorage (Alaska). The ICC’s Executive Council consists of representatives from the ICC’s four member organizations.
Your tasks will include:
- Daily management of ICC’s office in Nuuk
- Organize the work of the international Chair, in close collaboration with the Chair
- Organize ICC’s Executive Council meetings, including responsibility for taking minutes and meeting preparations
- Ensure good communication internally in the organization and strengthen external communication
- Ensure a high degree of coordination across ICC offices, together with ICC Canada and ICC Alaska’s Executive Directors
- Follow up on ICC’s international strategies and objectives
- Follow up on the decisions of the ICC’s Executive Council
- Advisor for the Executive Council and Chair
Our expectations from you:
- That you have good management and collaboration skills, and preferably around 10 years of management experience
- That you are organized and have a good overview of all activities
- That you have good coordination and administrative skills, and are able to work across different time zones and with different languages
- That you have high proficiency in oral and written English, and preferably that you can communicate in Greenlandic
- That you value good communication, especially internally in the organisation
- That you are good at being part of a small and close team
- That you thrive in a sometimes busy work environment with dynamic tasks
